U13 - U18 Divisional Soccer Regulations

Divisional Soccer is played according to the FIFA / IFAB Laws of the Game, which can be downloaded from this link.  The only departure from these Laws, in accordance with BC Soccer regulations, is that in youth soccer, unlimited substitutions are allowed, although substitutions must not disrupt play.

Length of game:

U13 - U14 play 35 minutes each way, with a 5 minute interval

U15 - U18 play 40 minutes each way with a 5 minute interval

Size 5 balls are used in Divisional play.

Practices:

Teams will practice once per week in addition to their two scheduled league games.

League Championship:

All teams compete for their league championship.  Points are awarded according to FIFA regulations - 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a defeat.  In the event of a tie at the end of the league season, teams are ranked according to the following criteria:

  • Head to Head record
  • Goal Difference
  • Highest number of wins
  • Fewest goals conceded in all games

If teams remain tied at the end of this process, a playoff will be scheduled.

Teams which default a game by failing to have 7 players ready to play, or by failing to appear, will have the game awarded to their opponents by a score of 1 - 0.  If both teams default, a 0 - 0 tie will be recorded, but no points will be awarded.
