The PGYSA Grassroots Program is a development program for young players between the ages of 6 and 11 years old. Our program is designed to introduce game fundamentals in the areas of dribbling, passing, ball control/reception/distribution, turning, and shooting. Fundamental game principles and tactics (1v1 - 7v7) are provided so that all participants have a fundamental understanding in small-sided game play.
The Grassroots program has evolved to align with Canada Soccer’s Long Term Player Development Model and new Grassroots Standards. Our goal is to teach youth players to play sport in the right way by respecting the opposition, the officials, our teammates, and the supporters of both teams.
All young players deserve the opportunity to built their confidence through a well-designed and structured program. Players are more likely to stay in sport if they feel competent at a task. No matter the level that a young player wishes to reach, our Grassroots program strives to provide all participants with the foundation they need to have success.
