PGYSA IMPACT - Club News

May 12th, 2022

Good day team,

After the rain last evening and finalizing the Whitecaps Development and Identification camp today, we will be rescheduling tonight's Option 2 Skill Centre session for another date. Most players are in the camp this weekend and you need to be as rested/recovered as possible.

To the 12-14 group, I am currently reviewing the players and will be in contact over the next few days. Some players would benefit from a transition to the 9-11 group, others to the 15-18 group, and some to the Active for Life program.

It is important to ensure players are placed in the correct environment so they may have an optimal experience.

Have a good day and good luck this weekend at the Whitecaps camp.

Sincerely,

Club News & Releases

May 11th, 2022

Good evening members,

  • The Final Master Schedule is on the front page of our website and under Outdoor Documents / The Field Map has now also been added.
  • *Please review the Final Master Schedule, as it lists all programs for May-July. The Master Schedule will be updated throughout the season as needed.
  • The Club Coach Procedures email will be distributed tomorrow. This will be sent to the membership on Friday along with a Pre-season membership letter.
  • The Whitecaps Player Identification and Development Camp will be taking place at Rotary this weekend. Good luck to all the attending players.

*Reminder that as a sanctioned Soccer Club, we are required to follow specific guidelines and criteria that have been released by Canada Soccer over the past few years. This means our Initiation (U3-U4), Grassroots (U6-U11), Active for Life and Competitive (U12-U18) programs, all mandatorily have to meet minimum program standards. It will take a few weeks to work out the kinks, but every Club that is a member of Canada Soccer, will be going through this transition at some point. We have decided to be the first Club in the North and get the transition over earlier rather than later.

Have a good evening.

Sincerely,

--

Club Player and Coach Successes - January 31/2022

Our Club recognizes the following Players and Coaches for their recent achievements. We are so proud to be a Club where people come together to help everyone achieve more.

  • Our Competitive League/IMPACT/WFC Club Academy continues its 100% record of transitioning graduates to the College/University level. With Arianna Payne graduating to the Grande Prairie College in 2020, Yanni Ntapas is our 2021 graduate and has signed on with the University of Northern British Columbia. We are so proud of Yanni for the work he has done in the Club and with TOFC in the BCSPL. We wish both graduates the best of luck during the upcoming Collegiate season.
  • Quinn Friesen is the January IMPACT/WFC BMO Player of the Month. Over the past few season, Quinn has shown significant dedication to his training and to his academics. Reaching new levels on the pitch and in the classroom, we look forward to seeing Quinn continue along his development path.
  • Congratulations are due for two Club Coaches that have achieved significant milestones in their Coach development and certification pathway. Coaches Gerry Wyers and Arianna Payne have officially become C-License certified. We are very proud of both Coaches, as it has taken many months for each of them reach this level. Special recognition goes out to Arianna Payne, as she become the youngest female C-License certified Coach in PGYSA/IMPACT history. Gerry and Arianna join Club Coaches John Botelho, Alex Nielson, and Collin Payne in becoming C-License certified. Next steps for our Coaches will be the Child/Youth pathway and/or the National pathway.
  • We have reached another milestone with coach certification in the 2021 Outdoor season. Every single Coach has met the minimum Coach certification standard and over 50% of our Club Coaches are under the age of 30. Our Coach development program and youth contingent are leading the Club into the future. Thanks for all you do.
