IMPACT/WFC - BMO Player of the Month

July 2021 - Avery Bjorn & Owen Brannigan

Name: Avery Bjorn
Birth Year: 2006
What her coaches say: “Avery has evolved immensely as a player over the past 18 months. Although quiet, she makes her impact when on the field of play. A very powerful athlete, Avery is hard to knock off the ball when in possession and difficult to track when getting forward into advanced positions. Avery’s mental strength and focus allows her to find her performance zone every time she is on the pitch. This produces very consistent performance outputs and continues to set personal bests during physical testing. We are proud of Avery and look forward to supporting her in reaching her long term goals”
Name: Owen Brannigan
Birth Year: 2008
What his coaches say: “Owen has been a member of the Prince George Whitecaps FC program for many seasons and continues growing daily within the IMPACT/WFC Academy program. An avid viewer of any professional match, Owen is beyond his years as a student of the game. Taking advantage of our five-pillar development program, Owen’s movement skill, mental strength, and comfort on the ball is advancing quickly and now positions him as a leader within our program. With the ability to read and anticipate increasingly complex game tactics, Owen is on track to train with our advanced senior group. We look forward to seeing him continue to develop over the next few years”

June 2021 - Marko Furlan

Name: Marko Furlan
Birth Year:  2006
What His Coaches Say: Marko is our June IMPACT/WFC BMO Academy player of the month. Over the past three years Marko has consistently grown and evolved as a young professional and as a player. Pushing himself to reach the small goals that we set daily, Marko has taken a methodical approach in reaching his goals. Allowing himself the time to grown and mature, Marko's foundational Technical ability has made him a very reliable and consistent central player. As a student of the game, Marko studies the game through conversation, reading articles, and modeling the professional game. We thank Marko for his leadership and look forward to supporting him along his soccer journey.

May 2021 - Chloe English & Yul Jung

Name: Chloe English
Birth Year: 2005
What her coaches say: “Chloe dedicated herself to the sport and to the Club Academy a few years ago and the hard work is paying off. A very powerful runner that is strong in possession, Chloe focusses on every detail during training. Her movement has become much more efficient and her understanding of angles support and body preparation has resulted in a player that is much more dynamic in attack. Chloe is very hard to knock off the ball and has the ability to shoot from anywhere within her touch radius. With a few years remaining until she graduates from our Academy, Chloe’s growth mindset is building the resiliency needed to make a successful transition to the collegiate level”
Name: Yul Jung
Birth Year: 2011
What his coaches say: “At nine years of age, Yul is our up-and-coming player of the month for April. Taking the bus with his family to training no matter the weather, Yul consistently trains to one day reach his dream and play alongside his favorite player – Son Heung-Min. Part of a group of younger players that have been part of our High-Performance Academy for the past few years, Yul is already training with players 3-4 years his senior. His control of the ball, self-discipline, ability to read and process his environment, and movement skill, all come together to produce a high standard of performance in ball control and manipulation. We look forward to supporting Yul along the next steps of his journey”
