As of May 2021, a valid Criminal Record Check Vulnerable Sector Check & the Respect in Sport Course is the minimum mandatory certifications to Coach youth under the age of 18.

Active Start (U4 – U6) Is designed for the first time coach. The focus is on teaching good basic skills and basic physical literacy.
Learn how to develop the ABCs of movement: Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed, while running a practice session that is fun, safe and keeps children actively engaged.
The emphasis of this course is on technical and tactical development within a small sided game environment (6v6, 7v7, 8v8, 9v9). You’ll learn how to help participants learn basic principles of play, in a fun, and challenging environment focussed on discovering how to solve soccer problems.
You are currently accessing the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders for BC Soccer. This program applies to leaders of youth in virtually any activity. Certain examples include Coaches, Trainers, Officials, Camp Counselors, Scout/Girl Guide Leaders, Referees, Leaders of extra-curricular and recreational activities. If you lead youth of any age and in any activity, you are an Activity Leader.
