All January 2025 Assessments will be held at PGYSA's Indoor Facility, 965 Winnipeg St.
PGYSA Impact are excited to share details about Phase Three Training and the upcoming January Assessments, providing opportunities for your child to grow and develop in soccer.
This training phase (January - March Break) is perfect for players interested in travel programs within their age group. It’s a great way to get a head start, learn from the experienced travel coaches, and build foundational references for future play.
We understand many players are involved in other sports at this time, so participation in Phase Three is not tied to travel team decisions. If a family is unable to attend Phase three because of participation in other sports/activities we fully understand.
Training is designed to help players improve and prepare for future opportunities.
Assessments provide valuable feedback for players on their current abilities and areas for growth, as well as information to the coaches about how their groups/players are progressing.
These sessions at the PGYSA facility are NOT about selecting travel teams. Instead, they allow us to understand the group’s development and provide actionable insights for players to continue improving.
PGYSA maintains an open travel pool philosophy, encouraging as many players as possible to participate in travel soccer. Players will not be cut from travel. It is our goal to provide opportunities for all players who wish to travel in the spring/summer. These game opportunities must be ability appropriate so coaches continue to monitor the progress of players on an ongoing process.
Another assessment will occur in April. This will provide coaches with the most up to date perspective of player abilities within the pool at each age group.
We hope to see your child on the field for these sessions! Whether they’re looking to prepare for future travel opportunities or simply improve their skills, Phase Three Training and Assessments are valuable resources.
